Aillwee Cave is Ireland's premiere showcave. Nestling at the heart of The Burren, this spectacular natural attraction was formed an early ice age, yet lying undiscovered until 1940. The fascinating history of the cave is laid out for visitors here, from the pit where the ancient bones of a bear were discovered, to Mud Hall, the calcite formations of the Great Cascade or the stalagmites and stalactites of Midsummer Cavern.
Once you emerge from the stunning beauty underground, you can adjust to life above ground with a meal at the café, or browse in the craft shop for a reminder of your day here. Outside, the wood and mountain trail leads through lovely scenery and varied flora.
With the rest of The Burren on the doorstep, and the Bird of Prey Centre on site too, this makes a wonderful stop on your Irish cottage holiday.

I found Hogans a first class company. From my first call the staff were very helpful & knowledgeable about the area we were going to. If the sales team were busy they always phoned back. Having a wide choice of cottages & ferry package made booking the holiday very easy. I will definitely use Hogans again
