The property

This light and spacious 200 year old traditional cottage is in a rural location on a small working farm just three miles from Waterville. Enjoying spectacular views of the Inny Valley and surrounded by green countryside and magnificent mountains, Trout Cottage is an ideal base for a group of friends or a family to retreat to this lovely part of Ireland. Set all on the ground floor the cottage is suitable for guests of all ages and anybody who has trouble with stairs. The open plan living area is the heart of the home and the well-equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare hearty breakfasts, a picnic lunch or an evening meal for the whole group to be enjoyed in the dining area. The sitting area has a multi-fuel stove which will keep the cold at bay in the evenings and give you a fantastic place to relax and warm your toes. The two bedrooms are comfortable and homely and offer flexible sleeping arrangements to fit a number of different groups. One of the bedrooms has the added benefit on an en-suite shower room. The Kerry Way Walk runs very close by and is a fantastic opportunity to discover the nearby area and its stunning scenery. As the name of the cottage would suggest, there is private access to the River Inny a short walk away which is well known for its salmon and trout fishing. Nearby is Waterville and this coastal town has a wonderful beach to stroll along, two golf courses to practice your swing on and a fantastic chance to experience the local seafood and a true Irish welcome. The Derrynane House and National Park are a short drive away and are well worth a visit, as is the beautiful blue flag beach. The well-known Ring of Kerry takes you on a tour along the Wild Atlantic Way and shows off the awe inspiring scenery of this area. To see it from a different perspective, take a boat trip out to find the history of the Skelligs. With such a stunning setting and number of attractions, this cottage has something for everyone.
