The property

This lovely ground floor cottage is in a quiet location near the village of Lixnaw near Tralee and Ardfert, which has Norman influences, in County Kerry. Inside, the accommodation is light and spacious providing a holiday home perfect for a family or a group of friends who wish to explore this varied area. There are three cosy bedrooms, two doubles and a single room which share use of a family shower room. The well-equipped kitchen is ideal for preparing a hearty breakfast before you head off on your day’s adventures and in the evening the sitting room is a lovely spot to relax in front of the oil stove. You can make the most of the sunny weather and head out into the lawned garden which has plenty of space for the children to play. This cottage is perfect for cyclists as there is secure storage available and the local villages and beaches are only a short distance away. If you fancy heading out for an evening meal then there are local taxi services available as well. The nearest village of Abbeydorney has a history in ploughing and has shops, pubs and is also home to The Old Forge and the Abbey of Kyrie Eleison. Within easy driving distance are Ardfert Cathedral and a selection of stunning beaches including Banna, Ballyheigue and Ballybunion. You can tour the area and visit Tralee, the famous Ring of Kerry, the Killarney National Park and the Dingle Peninsula where you can take in some fantastic views. For any golfers in the group there is the lovely Tralee Golf Club and Ballybunion Golf Course which is one of the best links courses available. After playing a round, there is superb food including the local seafood, available in the bars and restaurants in Tralee, Adfert, the Spa and the fishing village of Fenit. This cottage is in a fantastic location for visiting the number of festivals including the Rose of Tralee Festival, Tralee Races, Writer’s Week and Fleadh. Listowel hosts the Listowel Races and is this heritage town is the home of playwrights and authors including John B. Keane and Bryan McMahon. With so much on offer, Ryan’s Cottage is a charming holiday home.
