Macs Cottage is ideal for couples, families and groups of friends looking for a peaceful break in the great outdoors with an abundance of attractions on your doorstep. This homely cottage has been lovingly decorated and furnished to provide comfort and quality throughout your stay, with it boasting two well-presented bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a well-equipped fitted kitchen with dining area and then retire to the cosy sitting room with woodburning stove and plan the following day’s endeavours. To the outside of the property there are enclosed gardens, great for letting the dogs out to stretch their legs before bedtime with the bonus of parking for three cars. The surrounding terrain is truly of County Sligo, with mountain ranges, golden sand beaches, rivers and lakes. Take a short drive to Mullaghmore village with its sheltered harbour and magnificent beach, famed for its watersport activities or book a boat trip to Inishmurray Island and enjoy some excellent sea angling. Test your surfing skills at neighbouring Tullan Strand, Bundoran where Atlantic waves are among the most dramatic in Western Europe or relax in the many pubs, cafes and restaurants there. The nearby Dartry Mountains and Gleniff Horseshoe offer wonderful treks and trails with panoramic views. Spend a day fishing on nearby Drowes River, which flows from Lough Melvin to the Atlantic and is famous for its trout and salmon catches. The Duff River has extremely good salmon pools and a waterfall where you can watch the salmon leap. Private access to many of the salmon pools is available via the owner's land. Enjoy a day trip to the bustling town of Sligo, home of poet William B Yeats and savour its many shops and restaurants. Return to the charm of Macs Cottage in the evenings, feeling refreshed and relaxed. A perfect haven to explore the wonders of Sligo and South Donegal.

Both Mullaghmore and nearby Cliffony have fantastic beaches and fantastic restaurants are available. Visit the Gleniff Horseshoe, Creevykeel Court Tomb, Bunduff Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary or The Cloonerco Bogs which stretch across the Cliffoney landscape, and are ideal for nature lovers. Take the short drive to Sligo town and discover its numerous bars and restaurants, enjoy a trip north to Bundoran in County Donegal, or enjoy the walking, beaches or lake and river fishing in Cliffoney. Both the Florence Court House and Gardens and the Marble Arch Caves are an hour's drive away and are worth a visit. A lovely location for a rural Ireland getaway.
