This ground floor apartment is nestled in a small hamlet, some 500 yards from the stunning Silver Strand in the village of Dugort, Achill Island, County Mayo. This well-appointed ground floor apartment is perfect for families and groups of friends wishing to tour the Wild Atlantic Way, or just want to holiday by the sea. There is a spacious open plan kitchen with dining and sitting area, which is ideal for spending quality time together whilst dining and chatting about your day’s activities and planning your itinerary for the next day ahead. There are three comfortable bedrooms consisting of one family room with a double and a single bed, one twin bedroom and one single, together with a family bathroom. Dugort is located on the north side of Achill Island, at the foot of the majestic Slievemore Mountain and overlooking Blacksod Bay. A short walk from the apartment is the wonderful Silver Strand beach, which is easily one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland and was awarded Blue Flag status in 2016. It is a favourite with swimmers, so a dip in the sea is a must, and due to its sheltered position it is perfect for families. The sunsets here are magnificent so if you can extend your day at the beach until sunset, you will not be disappointed. A short distance away is Keel village, which is well worth a visit, simple to savour the wonderful scenery at Keel Bay. Here, there is a good variety of watersports on offer and bikes to hire which you can use on the nearby Greenway Cycle Route to take in the many attractions on this island. A ferry to the unspoilt island of Inishbiggle where life runs at a relaxed pace and you will be able to experience the Irish language. A little further afield is the bustling town of Westport which is full of tradition and culture, and offers a good variety of pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops. This apartment is ideal for a family seaside holiday and is a lovely base to enjoy all that this wonderful island has to offer.
