In the chillier months, the woodburning stove in one of the three sitting rooms is a welcome addition and the cheery sun room is perfect for warmer days. A real country retreat, the farmhouse is situated on the owner’s working livestock dairy farm. To the front of the property, there are scenic views across the fields, a spacious lawned garden and should you prefer to dine alfresco, there is a patio and furniture. The peaceful village of Touraneena has a shop and a pub and is nestled between the Knockmealdown, Comeragh and Monavullagh mountains. If you love the outdoors, there are excellent walking routes in this beautiful area of County Waterford and the nearby village of Ballymacarbry hosts the famous Nire Valley Walking Festival annually. Just a short drive away is the lovely harbour town of Dungarvan, where you can dine in one of the many restaurants offering gourmet cuisine, visit authentic pubs, play golf or walk along the stunning beach. Draped in history, the village of Lismore is also well worth a visit, home to Lismore Castle and Gardens. For the children, the coastal village of Ardmore and the town of Youghal are both perfect for a day beside the seaside.
