Killala is a pretty seaside village located 6 miles north of Ballina in County Mayo. It boasts a traditional quayside full of colourful boats and overlooks an attractive formation of sand dunes which lie just off the coast. The main focal point of the village is a well preserved tall round tower dating back well over 150 years and there is a selection of shops, pubs and eateries dotted around the narrow streets. With fishing, golf, surfing and walking all on offer nearby you are sure to find something to keep you busy during your stay here. Slightly further afield but still within convenient travelling distance you will find a wealth of historic attractions, rugged mountain ranges and beautiful islands, ideal for day trips and exciting excursions. Visit the Céide Fields at Ballycastle and experience the archaeological site and award winning visitor centre; and with a prehistoric landscape, dramatic cliffs and coastline, there is lots to discover about Ireland’s Stone Age history here. A lovely location, ideal for exploring this part of Ireland.

Only a few minutes' walk from the village and quayside, this is a perfect base for exploring the area.
