Planning a family holiday? Our County Waterford cottages are
ideal, with an array of attractions and a glorious coastline on
your doorstep. Attractive seaside resorts come in all shapes and
sizes. There are quieter ones like the quaint port of Dunmore East,
a popular angling centre and close to some lovely beaches; or the
village of Ardmore, famous for its 12th Century Round Tower. Or
bigger resorts like Tramore, boasting miles of sandy beaches and
all kinds of entertainment from waterslides to golf. There's
also the market town of Dungarvan, offering great water sports and
shopping.
The stretch between Tramore and Dungarvan is known as 'The
Copper Coast', a UNESCO European Geopark and a breathtaking
stretch of rugged coastline, with a series of striking rock
formations. On the River Suir's estuary nestles Waterford City,
a thriving port steeped in history and culture. It's a place
where old meets new - cobbled backwaters, medieval walls, trendy
restaurants and stylish boutiques. Don't miss Christ Church
Cathedral and, of course, the legendary Waterford Crystal Visitor
Centre showcasing the world's biggest display of hand-cut
glass.
Explore the countryside! Enjoy a trip aboard the Waterford and
Suir Valley Railway; or splendid walking, cycling, fishing and
riding in the Comeragh Mountains and Nire Valley. Potter around the
beautiful riverside town of Lismore, featuring a Heritage Centre
and the Lismore Castle Gardens and Art Gallery. And don't miss
The Vee, a remarkable beauty spot at the base of the Knockmealdown
