Sliabh Liag\u00a0<\/strong>(Slieve League)is a mountain 596 meters tall.<\/p>\n

It is home to the second-highest sea cliffs in Ireland. And offers scenic views over the coast.<\/p>\n

From\u00a0Slieve League,\u00a0<\/strong>you can look out across\u00a0Donegal Bay.\u00a0<\/strong>Here you can see parts of\u00a0County Leitrim<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>Sligo<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Mayo<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you want to see this natural seascape, you have a couple of options. Walking or boating.<\/p>\n

To Walk:<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are a few paths that explore\u00a0Sliabh Liag<\/strong>. However, the most common is\u00a0Pilgrim\u2019s Path.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can start this walk from\u00a0Teelin Village.\u00a0<\/strong>And if you want to extend the 3km hike,\u00a0One Man\u2019s Pass\u00a0<\/strong>takes you along the cliffs and down to\u00a0Bunglas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most of these boat trips head out from\u00a0Teelin Harbour.<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the main focuses of\u00a0Doagh Famine Village\u00a0<\/strong>is to explore the Great Famine between 1845-1852.<\/p>\n

Newmills Corn & Flax Mills<\/h2>\n

Located on the\u00a0River Swilly,<\/strong>\u00a0Newmills Corn & Flax Mill<\/strong>\u00a0is an insight into Irish heritage.<\/p>\n

Some of the buildings are over 400 years old and once a supplier of eggs, bacon and butter.<\/p>\n

Tory Island<\/h2>\n

Just of the northwest coast of\u00a0County Donegal,<\/strong>\u00a0Tory Island\u00a0<\/strong>is one of the most remote, inhabited islands in the whole of Ireland.<\/p>\n

To get to the island, you will need to take a short ferry across. The ferry is open to foot passengers only.<\/p>\n

As well as a variety of walks, you can find out about the\u00a0King of Tory Island,\u00a0<\/strong>try your hand at diving or visit the\u00a0Cloigtheach Bell Tower.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Plus, if you want to feed your family after a day of discovery, there are several small pubs on the island that offer heart-warming meals.<\/p>\n

Doon Fort<\/h2>\n

Doon Fort\u00a0<\/strong>should be on your list if you want weird and wonderful things to do in\u00a0Donegal.\u00a0<\/strong>What makes it so unusual is its unique location in the middle of a lake.<\/p>\n

There is a lot of uncertainty about when the fort was built. But many believe it could date back to medieval times.<\/p>\n

You can get great views from the hills that surround the fort. However, there are a few boats that can access the island if you want to get closer.<\/p>\n

Glengesh Pass<\/h2>\n

The road connects the towns of\u00a0Ardara<\/strong><\/a>and\u00a0Glencolumbcille.\u00a0<\/strong>Whether you want to drive, cycle, run or walk, anyone can travel along\u00a0Glengesh Pass.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On each side, you are surrounded by a sea of mountains. One side is the\u00a0Glengesh mountains,\u00a0<\/strong>and the other is\u00a0Mulmosog<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The pass is a highlight for many trips, but it is rarely busy with tourists. Just take care and keep an eye out for traffic.<\/p>\n

If you are walking, make sure to wear sturdy boots and take plenty of water. And don\u2019t forget your camera. There will be plenty of opportunity for an insta worthy photograph.<\/p>\n

Assaranca Waterfall<\/h2>\n

Just outside\u00a0Ardara\u00a0<\/strong>is\u00a0Assarance Waterfall.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is a beautifully scenic waterfall, perfect for a photograph. To maximise the photo opportunities, try visiting after heavy rainfall.<\/p>\n

The river will be pushing more water over the waterfall, giving you a more spectacular photo.<\/p>\n

What makes this waterfall unique is the\u00a0Maghera Caves and Beach\u00a0<\/strong>close by. Plus, if you have or are travelling with someone with limited mobility, the waterfall can be seen right from the car park.<\/p>\n
