History of Glenveagh<\/h3>\n

In the 17th-century,\u00a0Captain John Adair<\/strong>\u00a0built Glenveagh Castle.<\/p>\n

The estate passed down through the family until\u00a0Arthur Kingsley Porter<\/strong>\u00a0bought it in 1929 and\u00a0Henry Plumer Mcllhenny\u00a0<\/strong>in 1937.<\/p>\n

In 1975, the castle passed hands to the\u00a0Office of Public Works.\u00a0<\/strong>And from there, the land around the castle developed into what we now know as the national park.<\/p>\n

At the visitor centre, the national park has a trial walker bus that drops people off at the starting point for many of these walks.<\/p>\n
