“I stayed at The Coach House for 2 weeks and I had an absolutely fantastic and memorable time.”

The location and cottages are stunning. I'm already planning my next holiday there. You are left to your own devices and the cottages themselves have everything you need. Extremely clean and very cozy. All amenities and facilities are first class. Donal, the property manager is absolutely fantastic. Any questions or minor requests he is always on hand to asset. Wonderful location for families or by yourself to just get away from everything. I cannot recommend The Mews high enough. If I could ...

Wonderful location for families or by yourself to just get away from everything. I cannot recommend The Mews high enough. If I could give it more than 10/10 I would. Thanks to Donal and John for the perfect holiday and looking forward to coming back.

Minmore Mews

This group of cottages makes a wonderful holiday experience, whether you are wanting to simply relax away from the hustle and bustle, or explore the local area and beyond. The high-quality interiors have been thoughtfully designed to give each retreat its own personality, while still retaining the same sense of charm and character. The open-plan living areas offer somewhere comfy to unwind, with natural light and scenery bringing the outside in, a heart-warming base to return to. The bedrooms are all uniquely presented so you can truly unwind after an eventful day, appreciating the soothing ambience which is a delightful setting to fall asleep amidst, and wake up to. With views over the Wicklow and Wexford hills, the beautiful landscapes can be admired from the comfort of the accommodation, or you can wander outside to experience the six acres of garden first-hand. Gather all the family for some fun in the games room, or why not enjoy a barbecue together on a cosy evening when the sun is still shining. Children can even spend some time in the playground with its swings and slide. Out and about, the village of Shillelagh in County Wicklow is a seventeenth century 'planned estate' village, with appealing architecture including attractive terraced cottages and a courthouse with clock tower. For walkers, the Wicklow Way runs past the village, and the nearby Tomnafinnoge Oak Wood, one of the largest remaining oak woods in Ireland, makes a lovely spot for an autumn stroll. Coolattin Golf Club is just outside the village, while slightly further afield, the Wicklow Mountains, city of Dublin, and 'Ballykissangel' village of Avoca make superb destinations for an enjoyable day trip. You can visit castles, historic houses and gardens, the historic gaol at Wicklow town. Kilkenny City is just one hour away. The nearest restaurant is in Tinahely where there is also a coffee shop; other excellent restaurants are Marfield House in Gorey and Rathsallagh House in Dunlavin. An exceptional group of cottages to build some lasting memories.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of €50.

About the location

SHILLELAGH, COUNTY WICKLOW

Tullow 10 miles; Gorey 16 miles.

The village of Shillelagh in County Wicklow is a seventeenth century 'planned estate' village, with appealing architecture including attractive terraced cottages and a courthouse with clock tower. The Shillelagh stick, a well-crafted blackthorne stick originally used as a fighting weapon but now often used as an ornamental or walking stick, originated just outside the village, and visitors can visit workshops to watch local craftsmen continuing to produce this piece of Wicklow history. The nearest beach and harbour is a 35 minute drive away at the seaside holiday resort of Courtown. Slightly further afield, you can enjoy the Blue Flag, world-class white sandy beaches at Brittan Bay (45 minutes) and Curraghclose (50 minutes). Both are well worth visiting, whatever the weather.
