Right beside the property is Castlesaunderson which is a park with lovely walks and an old castle to enjoy.

The village of Redhills is just a short journey away, providing a well-stocked local shop for all your essentials, as well as a welcoming country pub where you can enjoy a refreshing pint of ale alongside a spot of pub grub.

The cottage is only 4 miles from Belturbet, which is a lovely town on the Shannon-Erne Waterway where you can hire boats to enjoy the lovely surrounding areas.

The property is set in the hub of Cavan Lakeland, a special river system with access to over a hundred lakes in the cavern, explore the unique lakes around here, trying your luck at fishing, boating, or enjoying watersports all year round.

Venture over to the Marble Arch Caves for a marvelous day out, delighting in boat rides and underground cave tours resting at the foothills of Cuilcagh Mountain, or delve into a memorable guided tour at the Arigna Mining Experience.

Spend a day in one of the nearby villages such as Ballyconnell or Belturbet, home to a wider selection of shops, pubs, and restaurants, as well as opportunities for rural walking and cycling.

The town of Belturbet is located in County Cavan, just one hour and forty minutes’ drive from Dublin, 10 miles from Cavan town, 8 miles from Ballyconnell and nestled halfway between Lough Oughter and Upper Lough Erne. Located on the banks of the River Erne, it has its own marina and is a haven for keen anglers or for those planning a boating holiday. Indeed, the town is considered by many to be one of the best fishing spots in Ireland with direct access to the Shannon-Erne waterway. Adjacent to Belturbet is the impressive Slieve Russell Hotel Golf and Country Club, one of Cavan’s main attractions. This picturesque town always has a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere, as well as a number of good pubs, some of which offer live traditional music at the weekends.
