The property

Aughavas 3 miles.

This charming, detached holiday cottage is situated three miles from the village of Aughavas in County Leitrim.

Eileen’s offers a wonderful, cosy home-from-home for groups visiting Ireland, where everyone can relax after a long day exploring and enjoy some quality time together away from home.

There is a kitchen, well-equipped for prepping picnics or hearty home-cooked meals, with a dining area seating four that provides a nice spot for breakfast while everyone else gets ready for the day ahead.

As well as this small dining space, there is also a separate dining room where you can all sit and enjoy larger meals together, or spread your maps and guide books across the table and plan the day’s activities!

The sitting room is where you can really relax, when your legs are aching after a long walk, a bike ride or a day exploring lovely Leitrim; you can enjoy a snooze by the gas fire, catch up on some TV or relax with a book.

There are three double bedrooms, including one with its own en-suite, plus a separate shower room, so there is lots of space for friends, couples or families holidaying together.

Outside, the garden is well maintained and the patio is sheltered with a barbecue and outdoor furniture, so you can enjoy dining outside when the weather is warm and relax in the sunshine.

Aughavas is a nice little village surrounded by tranquil woodlands and rich, rural countryside, making it a fantastic little base for touring the more northerly areas of Ireland.

There are lots of opportunities for fishing close by, with Lough Rynn and Lough Gowna a short drive away.

Hop over the border into County Longford or County Cavan, both beautiful and largely undiscovered, or visit the charming, lively town of Carrick-on-Shannon.

Sample lunch in one of the town’s many pubs and cafes, browse the shops, enjoy a cruise along the river from the marvellous marina, or spend a more action-packed day at Lough Key Forest and Activity Park.

However you decide to spend your holiday, Eileen’s is a fabulous place to call home for your time on the Emerald Isle!

About the location

AUGHAVAS, COUNTY LEITRIM

Mohill 8 miles; Carrick-on-Shannon 18 miles.

The small village of Aughavas is situated in the south of County Leitrim, just eight miles from the town of Mohill. Aughavas provides a wonderful location to immerse yourself in peace and quiet with plenty of woodland areas and lush green countryside around you. The village takes its name from the waterfall on the stream which still flows down near the local church. Close to the borders of Cavan and Longford, Aughavas is conveniently situated so that many of the inland attractions are within easy reach including Carrick-on-Shannon, often referred to as Ireland's ‘cruising capital’ and home to plenty of shops, pubs and eateries. Families can enjoy days out at Lough Key Forest and Activity Park and with so many lakes on your doorstep, Leitrim truly is an angler's paradise. A scenic and peaceful choice for your Ireland adventures.
