The property

Settled on the outskirts of the charming seaside village of Quilty, amidst countryside scenery and with distant sea view is this large, detached property, Cherry Blossom Cottage.

Offering up to eleven guests a great base to explore the Wild Atlantic Way, Cherry Blossom Cottage boasts four spacious bedrooms and is around one mile from the beach.

Admire the attractive external aspect of the house with stone cladding to the front before heading inside, taking off coats and boots in the entrance hall.

Discover a large kitchen/diner where you can tuck into home-cooked meals or fresh breakfasts at the dining table for six, with a fitted kitchen complete with all you need on a self-catered stay, as well as a separate utility for the washing machine and tumble dryer.

The lovely sunroom enjoys triple aspect windows and doors out to the garden, housing two sofas to relax on while you get stuck in a good book.

Watch TV in the sitting room, settling on one of the inviting sofas in here, with an open fire to keep you warm in winter.

A king-size bedroom lies on the ground floor benefitting from an en-suite wet room and a walk-in wardrobe, ideal for the older generation in the group or those with mobility issues, as well as a family bathroom.

Head upstairs to find three further bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms, comprising of a family room with a double and a single, a twin room with two queen-size beds and a walk-in wardrobe, and finally a queen-size double, all with bright and airy décor and lovely countryside or distant sea views.

The large garden is a wonderful feature in the warmer months with garden furniture to relax on.

Head down to the centre of the village with Quilty resting right on the coastline, home to a takeaway, a pub, a supermarket and a long stretch of beach, with views of the Aran Islands, the Cliffs of Moher and the Connemara Hills.

Surfers will be delighted to find some of the best waves in the world in County Clare, with the calm waters at Lahinch being perfect for learners and home to several surf schools to teach you the skills to ride the waves.

Perfect your swing at one of Lahinch's two excellent golf courses, Lahinch Golf Club and Castle Course, or explore the ruins of Dough Castle, originally built in the early 1400s.

Walk along the Burren Way to see the staggering Cliffs of Moher, Ireland's most visited natural attraction, stretching for five miles and reaching 702 feet at their highest point north of O'Brien's Tower, offering unrivalled views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Discover a world underground in the lively village of Doolin further north; home to Doolin Cave, which has the longest free-hanging stalactite in the Northern Hemisphere measuring 23 feet long, it makes a great day out for all.

QUILTY, COUNTY CLARE

Miltown Malbay 3.6 miles; Spanish Point 2.8 miles; Lahinch 11 miles.

Quilty is an attractive seaside resort with local charm, providing a seafood restaurant, a pub, a supermarket and sea fishing. The nearby pretty town of Miltown Malbay is located close to the Atlantic coast in County Clare, and is only an hour from Shannon Airport. Famed for its traditional Irish music, it is home to the Willie Clancy music festival, which is held in July, however visitors will find fabulous live music in many pubs and bars whatever the time of year. Miltown Malbay is close to some excellent beach resorts including Spanish Point and Doonbeg, both of which are well worth a visit for their relaxed vibe and great surf. The Burren National Park to the north of the town is a mecca for walkers and nature lovers with its unique geological landscapes and rich colourful wildflowers, and to the south you will find the striking 'Cliffs of Moher', which rise majestically out of the ocean and are best appreciated from one of many boat trips departing nearby.
