This detached cottage is ideally situated with stunning views of Lickeen Lake, 1.3 miles from Kilfenora in County Clare. Perfect for a group of friends or a family who wish to explore this scenic part of Ireland, this delightful cottage is spacious and contemporary, making it a fantastic base. The three lovely bedrooms are comfortable and offer flexible sleeping arrangements so the whole group will be well rested before heading for a day’s adventure. There is also a stylish kitchen which has a dining area where you can enjoy a home cooked meal, and a large sitting room to retire to in the evening and curl up to warm yourself at the gas stove while relaxing in front of the lake views. Known as the gateway to the Burren, the country around the historic village of Kilfenora has fascinated geologists, with a variety of exotic plant life and limestone landscapes. With the Wild Atlantic Way on your doorstep, you will be overwhelmed by the variety of things to do, starting with spectacular walking and cycling routes. If you are feeling adventurous, head to the Cliffs of Moher and take in the stunning views, or explore the depths of Doolin Cave. There is a choice of golf courses at Lahinch and Doonbeg so grab your clubs and go for a relaxing round. This area of west Clare offers many delights such as its sandy beaches, watersports, delightful seaside villages and a variety of festivals including the Willy Clancy music festival in Milltown Malbay and the Matchmaking Festival in Lisdoonvarna. Further afield you can take a day trip to Carrigaholt to try and spot some dolphins, or take to the seas and hop on a boat trip from Doolin to see the Aran Islands. At the end of the day, return to one of the many pubs and enjoy a pint of Guinness with some gourmet seafood amongst the welcome of the friendly locals.
