“The house is a great location but needs a lot of work to bring up to a suitable standard.”

The en-suite and down stairs bathroom are not clean with mould evident. There is a strong smell in the utility room from the heating system which should not be there. The counter top in the kitchen is badly damaged and split around the sink, so dirt is collecting there which is not hygienic. The floors were very dirty and the wooden floor in the sitting room has lots of holes and damaged boards which is not suitable for children. There are boards filled in with rubbish. The floors were very dirty and the wooden floor in the sitting room has lots of holes and damaged boards which is not suitable for children. There are boards filled in with rubbish. The cream couch is dirty and when we wiped with a cloth it the amount of dirt that came off was disgusting. It’s a shame because the house has so much potential. We have booked to return next year to kilkee but to another property.

KILKEE, COUNTY CLARE

Kilrush 8 miles.

Kilkee is a charming seaside town on the western coast of County Clare overlooking the mile-long horseshoe bay, with a gently sloping safe and sandy Blue Flag beach that is protected from the Atlantic weather by the Duggerna Reef, which stretches across the mouth of the bay. Kilkee has a well deserved reputation as the safest bathing place in Ireland with bathing and swimming enjoyed at all stages of the tide. The Kilkee Surf School runs surf camps for children aged 9 to 16 at Kilkee and Doughmore beaches every week of the summer holidays or why not try Waterworld? A popular all-weather facility, Waterworld has a range of indoor water attractions including a bubble pool, shower geysers, the 'lazy river ride' and a 61m crystal tower slide, and the Thalassotherapy Centre which offers a variety of sea based therapies. The 18-hole championship golf course is situated on the road towards George's Head and stretches along the spectacular cliffs. There are also numerous walks with cliff scenery that can only be described as spectacular. Kilkee has a variety of cafes and restaurants specialising in locally caught fish and shellfish, while the pubs and lounge bars have regular music competitions, traditional Irish nights, cabaret, dancing and pub theatre. Dolphin watching can be enjoyed at nearby Carrigaholt, while activities including sailing, scuba diving, birdwatching and horse riding are available in the area. Something for everyone!
