“This was our second time staying at Sunshine Cottage and it didn't disappoint.”

It is a very comfortable well equipped house. We were four adults and a teenager, there was plenty of room for us all. It is located just a short walk to the village of Liscannor which has pubs, a hotel and several places to eat, all of which serve very good food. You are a short drive from the Cliffs of Moher, Spanish Point and a little bit longer to Ballyvaughan. Lahinch beach and Golf course is about 5 minutes away by car. The house is situtated in a very quiet area, ideal if you are looking to get away from it all. The wood burning stove and sky tv are lovely when you come back in the evening after a nice meal. I would definitely recommend the area and the house and would go back again.

About the location

LISCANNOR, COUNTY CLARE

Lahinch 3 miles; Doolin 9 miles; Lisdoonvarna 11.5 miles; Burren National Park 22.5 miles.

Liscannor is a small fishing village steeped in naval and marine history, set along the rugged west Clare coast. Liscannor is overlooked by the ruins of its former castle which sits above the village, while many old stone houses are still occupied. There is a choice of bars and places to eat, including Vaughan's, an award-winning restaurant, Egan's, a must for wine buffs, and McHugh's. Two miles north west of the village is O'Brien's Monument, a tall pillar built in 1853, while the famous St Brigid's Well, reputed to have curative powers, is also close by. One of the great natural wonders of Ireland, the Cliffs of Moher, are just 5 minutes' drive away to the north; these majestic cliffs boast some of the most amazing views in Ireland, and on a clear day you can see the Aran Islands in Galway Bay and the hills of Connemara. Boat trips to view the cliffs from the sea depart from Liscannor Harbour. For great days out, Lahinch is 5 minutes' drive away, and offers miles of Blue Flag beaches, surfing, a swimming pool and aquarium as well as a world renowned championship links golf course. Visit the spa town of Lisdoonvarna, experience traditional Irish music in Doolin, catch the ferry out to the Aran Islands or discover the beauty of the caves at Doolin or Ballyvaughan.
