The property

Located behind the owner’s home, on the outskirts of the delightful town of Miltown Malbay in County Clare, is The Getaway, a lovely detached cottage.

For relaxing breaks at an away-from-it-all destination in the wonderful west of Ireland, you couldn’t ask for a more cosy and welcoming spot.

All on the ground floor and decorated to a good standard, this property offers two bedrooms, a double and one with a set of triple bunks, as well as a bright and airy open plan living area with kitchen, a dining area a sitting area – the perfect place for tea and toast before setting out on your holiday adventures, or gathering together for a hearty meal as the day draws to a close.

Take a walk into town and discover the plentiful selection of bars and restaurants serving a multitude of cuisines, or share a craft beer with the locals whilst witnessing some foot-tapping traditional Irish music.

Close by are some superb beaches, including Lahinch and Doonbeg, whilst the gorgeous Blue Flag beach at Spanish Point is only a short drive away.

Outdoor activity lovers will be spoilt for choice in this area, with surfing, kayaking, cycling and walking all available and for those looking to practice their swing, you can tee off at the world-renowned Trump International and Lahinch Golf Links close by.

Must-see attractions including the stunning Cliffs of Moher, Burren National Park and the Loop Head Peninsula are also all within reach, so there really is something for everyone to enjoy along the stunning County Clare coastline.

For an exhilarating tour of the breathtakingly-beautiful Wild Atlantic Way, or a long-awaited relaxing stay on the Emerald Isle, this cottage is a perfect base.

MILTOWN MALBAY, COUNTY CLARE

Spanish Point 2 miles; Lahinch 8 miles; Kilkee 21 miles.

The pretty town of Miltown Malbay is located close to the Atlantic coast in County Clare, and is only an hour from Shannon Airport. Famed for its traditional Irish music, it is home to the Willie Clancy music festival, which is held in July, however visitors will find fabulous live music in many pubs and bars whatever the time of year. Miltown Malbay is close to some excellent beach resorts, including Lahinch, Spanish Point and Doonbeg, all of which are well worth a visit for their relaxed vibe and great surf, not to mention their excellent golf courses. The Burren National Park to the north of the town is a mecca for walkers and nature lovers with its unique geological landscapes and rich colourful wildflowers. Also to the north you will find the striking Cliffs of Moher, which rise majestically out of the ocean and are best appreciated from one of many boat trips departing nearby.
