“The apartment is attached to the owners house, set in beautiful, private, extensive grounds leading down to the River Laurne.”
It is situated on the edge of the village of Beaufort, which has a small general store and a very good pub/ restaurant, although when we were there in early September it was only open at weekends. However, there are plenty of restaurants and places to eat in the surrounding towns and villages. The apartment is very conveniently located for exploring the Ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsula. It was very peaceful and comfortably furnished. The level of kitchen equipment was adequate, although some additional small items, such as a cafetière and a cheese grater would be useful. There is no washing machine or dish washer, and no room for them, which wasn’t at all a problem for us, but may be for some. There is a fridge, but it has no freezer compartment, which meant we had no ice for drinks. There was no dish cloth, cleaning materials or equipment, apart from a small dust pan and brush. Some may say they don’t want to be cleaning on holiday, (nor do we) but some basic items such as a floor cloth for spills would have been useful. There was no towel rail or anywhere to hang towels in the bathroom. Overall, this is a lovely, comfortable apartment, with very friendly, helpful owners, but lacks a few finishing touches, which is why we have deducted one star from the overall rating.
