Susan “Gallivans is a spacious and comfortable house on a quiet road, in a stunning location of unsurpassed beauty.”
The kitchen was roomy and well equipped, there was plenty of living room space, the bathrooms were clean with excellent water pressure in the showers. This house would comfortably hold a large group of people. Most importantly, the caretaker was helpful and kind and flexible. Our group very much enjoyed our stay.
- Susan, September 2019Ann Marie “Another great stay in Gallivans, our third time staying!”
Would highly recommend this holiday home.
- Ann Marie, June 2019Nadine “Abour renting through Sykes This is a general comment about the renting process at Sykes: it would be helpful to have a chance to speak to the owner before committing to renting their house: I had quite a few questions which the person I spoke to at Sykes wasn't able to answer, as they required local knowledge or a much more detailed knowledge of the property itself.”
Also, more details about suitability of properties for older people or young children would be helpful. About the holiday The owners (and brothers!) were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. They immediately responded to our request for a few extra things for the house (even offered to buy lighter quilts for us). The house is lovely, with beautiful views. It's only minutes to the most beautiful beach we've ever seen and only minutes to the start of walks into the mountains from Caherdaniel. Although the house is not all that far from the main road, you never hear any traffic noise or see the road. In fact, although there are other houses around, you hardly hear any noise at all: exactly what we were looking for.
- Nadine, June 2019Alan “Outstanding property.”
Very nice owners.
- Alan, May 2019Laoise “Great house for 8+ people - way bigger than we needed (We didn't even need to use the sitting room) - perfectly well equipped and clean.”
Beds were very comfy too. Beautiful location about equidistant between the village and beach (approx half hour (but lovely) walk to each) -- would think about bringing bikes next time so that we can cover more ground. Highly recommended!
- Laoise, October 2016Robert “In a fantastic location with helpful but unobtrusive owners.”
A great house, easy to take care of, couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely return.
- Robert, October 2014Marie “Great house.”
Very spacious and well-equipped. We'd go back.
- Marie, August 2014Nicola “The accommodation was very spacious and well laid out.”
Very comfortable beds and plenty of towels etc. There was garden furniture to sit out in the sun on the patio which was great. There was plenty of hot water and we were in control of the heating and could use the open fire if needed as turf etc was supplied. The views from the house were great from the kitchen table. The utility room was well equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer which was very useful for managing with small children's needs. The owners were very helpful providing cots and high-chairs and even ice as requested.
