stayed here for 3 days in the build up to my wedding in the Gougane Barra church. Thee most idyllic setting you will ever see in your life. It was the ideal retreat from The stresses. The cottage is approx a KM from the chapel, it is set in the mountains along a back rd from Ballingeary. Upon arrival the lady of the house asked if we would like a meal, true Irish lady. Unfortunately we had all ate. Upon arrival the cottage is impressive to the modern/ old romantic. Has everything you will need, big bath, all the kitchen utensils you will need to make a 3 course meal as we did. Then we retired to the comfort of our wood burning stove in the living area to listen to music around the fire. Found the house immaculately clean. For those that want to get away from the world. Ideal! Met the owners a few times over our stay and it was a laugh the whole time, they couldn’t do enough for us. Everyone of the six of us throughly enjoyed our stay. We found the accommodation immaculate. The host the utmost welcoming and they made my wedding that extra special. For that, thank you wholeheartedly. Aaron O’ Neill. We will all be back to stay as soon as possible.
