Ballymullen, historically known as Baile an Mhuilinn, is a Townland situated in the county of Kerry in the South-West area of the Republic of Ireland. The area is most commonly known for being the home of Ballymullen Barracks, built for local militia units between 1810 and 1815 where many well known British Army regiments were posted, including the Royal Munster Fusiliers, who had their depot and Regimental Headquarters located there. Ballymullen is the ideal location for a holiday to Kerry due to its close proximity to many of the counties most popular attractions.
