A character Georgian stone-built cottage located next to the owner’s home in the hamlet of D’Loughtane, 3.5 miles from the town of Youghal on the County Waterford/Cork border.
This cottage is set in the peace and quiet of the countryside, however does have easy access to the coast and to the local amenities of the town of Youghal, therefore makes a great place for a holiday for a family or small group of friends to enjoy.
On entering the property you will be met by the beautiful character of the property with lovely wooden floors throughout.
There is a convenient spacious master bedroom on the ground floor with a shower room next door.
Also on the ground floor is an open plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of seating to enjoy some home-cooked meals and to relax after a full day out and about exploring the beautiful countryside.
Upstairs is a family bedroom with the flexibility of singles and a double to choose from.
Outside are some lovely enclosed lawned gardens to enjoy with a good-sized gravelled area and a patio area with seating, making it a great place for the kids to let off steam, whilst you enjoy relaxing with something chilled.
Enjoy some home produced honey from native Irish black bees which are housed in an apiary adjoining the owner's garden.
There are some lovely areas for walking and cycling from the doorstep from this lovely cottage.
D’Loughtane lies at the mouth of the Blackwater River, which is great for fishing, and is home to a quaint harbour, 12th century town walls, its sandy beach and plenty of historic charm.
One of Cork’s most popular seaside towns, Youghal, is a short jaunt over the border in County Cork and is home to great local food and pubs serving home-cooked meals and local ales, sandy beaches, surfing and golf.
Further afield, are the seaside village of Ardmore, Lismore Castle and Dungarvan in County Waterford.
Head in the opposite direction and explore Cork City where you can take a visit to Blarney Castle and kiss the famous stone to gain the gift of eloquence.
