The property

This cosy, detached cottage is set in the heart of the countryside on the Ring of Kerry, five miles from the village of Sneem in County Kerry.

Ideal for friends and families, this traditionally decorated cottage is perfect for escaping everyday life and relaxing in tranquil, rural surroundings.

After a busy day exploring the stunning scenery, you can take your boots off, curl up and relax in front of the open fire in the welcoming sitting room.

With a compact but well-equipped kitchen, this cottage has everything you need for a rural getaway.

There is even a reading room where you can get some peace and quiet from the family, or the children can play in their own space.

The two bedrooms upstairs are spacious and offer flexible sleeping arrangements, with a twin and a family room to suit all needs.

Outside, you can see as far as the Atlantic Ocean from the rustic garden that meanders around the cottage.

Sneem, which means ?The Knot?, gets its name from the spot where the River Sneem meets the currents of Kenmare Bay below the village.

This charming village hosts a number of traditional pubs which have regular live Irish music, craft shops and eateries.

Lying along the famous Wild Atlantic Way, Sneem has fantastic scenery and seascapes in every direction.

There are many walks available around Killarney Lakes and National Park, or you can see the Skelligs and the Beara Peninsula on a boat trip.

Along the coast at Derrynane, Castlecove and Waterville there are many sandy beaches waiting to be explored, and with golf courses at Kenmare, Parknasilla and Waterville there is something for everyone.

This cottage is set in such picturesque surroundings it is perfect for a relaxing break in Ireland.

Situated between the towns of Kenmare and Waterville, and on the route of the Kerry Way, the village of Sneem provides shops, pubs and a number of cosy tea rooms. With rows of brightly coloured houses, and a lively atmosphere, Sneem is a previous winner of the National Tidy Town Award and is a popular stop for tourists and locals alike. Sneem is located on the famous Ring of Kerry and is known as the Knot in the Ring. Just ten minutes drive away is the Blue Flag beach at White Strand, whilst the nearby town of Kenmare offers beautiful coastlines to explore, winding streets and interesting boutiques, while the coastal town of Waterville is only a short drive away, and provides a great day out for all the family. Parknasilla Hotel with its spa and golf course, and Derrynane Beach, are within easy reach, or try walking on the famous Macgillycuddy Reeks, the highest mountain range in Ireland, with notoriously rugged terrain to conquer, or make the short journey to Killarney National Park, where beauty abounds.
