The property

The cottage offers comfortable accommodation with thoughtful touches throughout, making it a homely base for small groups exploring the wonderful west of Ireland.

The kitchen has a sociable dining area, and along with the sitting room, opens directly onto the patio area.

Two bright bedrooms complete the accommodation, while outside, guests are welcome to enjoy the well-tended gardens or relax on the patio with a coffee before setting off on an adventure.

The secluded little fishing village of Union Hall can be easily reached, where you can enjoy watersports on the quiet waters, uncover the area?s history with crumbling castle ruins scattered nearby, or wander along the bay, past the pretty pastel houses that line the harbour.

Cross the causeway and head to Glandore, a popular port for sailing enthusiasts, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink or a fresh seafood delight in one of the bars set along the seafront.

The market town of Skibbereen is just over ten minutes?

drive away where you can tour the town, perusing the charming shops set along the colourful high street.

The cultural city of Cork can be reached in just over an hour?s drive, where you?ll find plenty of things to interest everyone, from galleries to the English Market where you?re certain to pick up some traditional Irish fare to take back to the cottage, or stop for a bite before heading home.

Set in the owners’ grounds, guests can enjoy the well-manicured gardens before an alfresco dinner on the patio during sunny evenings. Almost hidden in its own harbour, the small fishing village of Union Hall in West Cork has its own active fishing fleet, pleasure boats, and calm waters for water skiing, diving and canoeing. A causeway leads into the village, which is steeped in history, with castle ruins and forts scattered through the area. Today, the village offers a selection of pubs and seafood restaurants, a supermarket, fishmongers, a Post Office, a bureau de change and the annual Union Hall Festival, held every June, featuring a variety of games and watersports. Boat hire for visiting some of the off shore islands is available locally, while the village and surrounding area also offer good walking opportunities. The vibrant market town of Skibbereen, renowned as the capital of West Cork, is approximately 7 miles away, boasting colourful shops, restaurants and pubs, along with the fascinating West Cork Arts Centre and Skibbereen Heritage Centre.
