The property

Surrounded by mountains and overlooking a peaceful lake in the village of Waterville, County Kerry, is this charming bungalow, Lake View.

Just a short distance away from an unspoilt beach and on the Wild Atlantic Way whilst enjoying fantastic views of the natural scenery, this three-bedroom holiday home is an ideal base for a family or six friends.

Be greeted by off-road parking and a dramatic landscape before making your way inside to discover an entrance hallway where you can leave your shoes and jackets.

Step into the open-plan living space, home to a roaring fire which you can rest up besides with a hot chocolate in hand.

Rustle up hearty meals in the kitchen, courtesy of the electric oven and hob; when dinner is dished settle down at the dining table to tuck-into a treat.

Soak in the setting from the large windows or unwind in the enclosed garden with a barbecue to toast marshmallows as the sun begins to set.

As the weather cools, retire inside and take your pick between a double, a family room with a double and a single, as well as a delightful twin bedroom.

Awaken tired eyes with a rinse in the shower room or indulge in a bubble bath in the family bathroom before rummaging round the garage to grab a bike or a bodyboard to test the waves.

Visit Waterville Beach for a blend of sand and stone, where you can enjoy a picnic as the waves crash before you, or pack your clubs with two superb golf courses to choose from.

The owners have also left fishing rods so why not explore the picturesque Kerry Way for a quiet fishing spot, or if that's not for you, hop aboard a boat for a trip to Skellig Rocks to enjoy exquisite views.

Whilst here also enjoy the Skellig experience which is where Star Wars was filmed.

Head to the historical town of Cahersiveen, here you can tour the ancient remains of The Old Abbey of the Holy Cross, enjoy a guided tour to sink in the town's past or taste delights at a wine bar.

For a majestic escape to County Kerry, choose Lake View.

About the location

Cahersiveen 10 miles; Dingle 61 miles; Killarney 50 miles.

Nestled between Ballinskelligs Bay and Lough Currane, sits Waterville, the premier coastal tourist centre on the Ring of Kerry. Surrounded by mountains and lakeland, Waterville also offers a fine sandy beach, two golf courses, one being a championship 18-hole course, a selection of restaurants and bars, as well as interesting archaeological remains. Enjoy walks along the wonderful Kerry Way, or angling and fishing on one of the area’s many excellent rivers or lakes. Take a boat trip to the Skellig Rocks, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and enjoy fabulous vistas across the bay, coupled with seeing one of Europe’s best-known and oldest monasteries. Other trips of note are Valentia Island, with its superb views to Skellig Rocks, Slea Head and the Blasket Islands, a trip to Dingle, or a visit to the bustling coastal town of Cahersiveen, which is only 10 miles away. There are also great beaches for surfing and watersports along this stretch of coastline, for both adults and children. Waterville is situated in the Kerry International Dark-Sky Reserve, the only Dark-Sky reserve in the Northern Hemisphere and, impressively, one of only three Gold-tier level reserves in the world! A great base from which to explore the south west coast, and famous Ring of Kerry.
