The property

Just two miles from the Gaeltacht village of Derrybeg, nestled in the north west corner of the Emerald Isle, is a charming, homely cottage. Although this cottage is set besides the owners’ own home, it enjoys privacy, and its fully-renovated interior offers a wonderful base for a family holiday, or a getaway with friends, discovering the many delights of County Donegal. This cottage has four delightful bedrooms, including a double, a twin, a single room, and a room with bunk beds. There is also a family bathroom where you can indulge in a glass of wine and a long, soothing soak in the tub. Prepare picnics for days on the go, or delicious family meals in the well-equipped kitchen, before retiring to the bright and airy sitting room boasting a warming range, perfect for banishing the cold on winter nights. Spread your maps and guide books across the dining table and plan the days’ adventures. When the sun is shining, venture out into garden and let the younger members of the party burn off some energy on the enclosed lawn, while you enjoy a refreshing drink and soak up the sunshine. On warm evenings, enjoy dinner outside, alfresco style, and gaze at the stars twinkling overhead. A 30-minute stroll down a private road leads to the local beach. Kick your shoes off and feel the soft sand between your toes, or brave the cold with a dip in the sea! The coastal village of Derrybeg is a lovely base for a holiday with its friendly selection of shops and pubs, and even a nightclub where you can dance the night away! Pull on your walking boots, or hop on your bike, and explore the beautiful countryside of County Donegal. With the glorious scenery of the Glenveagh National Park an easy drive away, picnic spots are plentiful. Spend an afternoon visiting the upbeat towns of Dungloe and Letterkenny, and with many boat trips offering excursions to Ireland’s islands set just off the coast, many boasting the chance to spot a whale or two, this magnificent region truly does make for a spectacular holiday destination! Close by, the Wild Atlantic Way beckons, the cherry on the cake for this delightful cottage. Book now for the chance to experience all of this and so much more and enjoy an unforgettable holiday in Ireland.
