“The cottage is well located and near the sea, great views, only drawback is the distance to the nearest shops!”

The property

This homely, detached cottage is the final property set on a quiet cul-de-sac, in the centre of Brinlack, in the Gaeltacht district of Gweedore, County Donegal.

This traditional cottage in Brinlack features sweeping ocean views, and offers cosy ground floor accommodation for friends and families looking to discover this glorious coastal location.

This holiday cottage in Gweedore offers a pleasant, comfortable touring base with its three bedrooms, light kitchen and cosy sitting room with a snug open fire, a superb addition after a long walk along the shore.

Set in a Irish-speaking region of Donegal, guests can travel inland to explore the spectacular, unspoilt mountain scenery, with surrounding rugged pastures and loughs set under the splendour of Mount Errigal, the tallest peak in Ireland, just twenty minutes’ drive away and waiting to be conquered by those who dare.

Wrapped in hues of deepest green, the romantic Glenveagh National Park can be reached within half an hour’s drive.

Open daily, the park of approximately 16,000 hectares is steeped in serene beauty, and is home to much thriving plant and wildlife, the ultimate accompaniment for anyone wishing to experience quiet country walks and bike rides.

Take a trip to the beach at Bunbeg, just ten minutes’ drive away; when the tide recedes, the sands offer access to the resident wrecked skeleton of an abandoned fishing boat, the perfect photo opportunity to remember your Gweedore holiday in years to come.

Located below Mount Errigal, Donegal's tallest peak, Gweedore is framed by beautiful soaring scenery on one side, while on the other is the glistening Atlantic Ocean with a coastline made up of long sandy beaches and rugged cliffs.
