The property

Situated in the Gaeltacht town of Dungloe in County Donegal, right on the water?s edge on the quay road, this charming, detached cottage is a wonderful escape for couples and small families exploring the north west corner of Ireland.

Easily reached, with just a 20-minute drive from Donegal Airport, this bright and airy Dungloe cottage is great for sunny days on the beach, with the pretty Cloughglass Beach nearby, and being less than half an hour from an abundance of family-friendly Blue Flag beaches.

This Dungloe cottage features a wheelchair ramp to the rear of the property, providing easy access for those who might struggle with the front step.

There are two wonderful double bedrooms, one of which offers the use of an en-suite wet room, and a family bathroom.

An open plan living area houses a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area where you can gather for a hearty meal after a day spent walking, and a sitting area with a multi-fuel stove.

Here, everyone can gather together in the warmth of the stove and reminisce the day?s adventures.

If you fancy some quiet reading time, curl up by the open fire in the separate sitting room, or relax together with a glass of wine.

When the sun is shining, the lawned garden to the rear of this Dungloe cottage is a great space to soak up the sunshine and the beautiful views.

Or, sit on the bench in the front garden with your morning cup of coffee and gaze across the water, just a short stroll from this Donegal cottage.

The town of Dungloe has an abundance of friendly pubs, shops and restaurants, and there are plenty of chances to hear some traditional Irish music!

Arranmore Island 7.5 miles; Letterkenny 32 miles.

Up until 1762, entry into the town of Dungloe in Donegal was only possible via the stepping stones dotted over the river. Thankfully, now visitors from all over the world can take the much easier route over Donegal Bridge and enjoy this charming town in County Donegal with ease. Dungloe is known locally as 'The Capital of The Rosses', the name given to this region of the county. The town, which has become recognised as a centre for traditional Irish music, has a selection of shops, bars and eating places, as well as events taking place throughout the year, including the annual 'Mary from Dungloe' festival. A fisherman's paradise, the area has over 130 lakes and rivers and is renowned for its fishing and great sea angling, with several charter boats available in nearby Burtonport, from where diving can also be enjoyed. There are also daily boat trips from the harbour to Arranmore and Rutland Island. Wonderful wildlife can be found in the bogs and reed beds, while golfers will love the variety of golf courses found in the surrounding area. With hills and mountains to explore, the dramatic coastline to enjoy and so much to see and do, this is sure to make the perfect base for your Donegal holiday.
