About the location
DUNKINEELY, COUNTY DONEGAL
Killybegs 6.6 miles; Donegal 10.7 miles.
The small village of Dunkineely lies between the popular towns of Donegal and Killybegs on the scenic Wild Atlantic Way and is typical of an Irish village with its traditional pubs, colourful houses and rural community. The village sits at the head of the St John’s Point Peninsula, a 4.3 mile finger of land that juts out into the Atlantic. At the head of the peninsula is a picturesque beach called Coral Beach with crystal clear waters and a lighthouse which looks out across Donegal Bay towards County Sligo and the distinctive outline of Benbulben Mountain in the distance. Dunkineely makes a wonderful touring base with so many attractions on your doorstep, including Donegal Castle, the majestic Slieve League cliffs, Glenveagh National Park and Mount Errigal.
