The property

This cosy detached cottage is situated on a quiet rural road next to the owner’s home and near the village of Kilcar in County Donegal.

This is a lovely cottage for couples or groups of friends to use a base to explore this breathtaking west coast of Ireland.

Comfortably decorated throughout with the living accommodation being upstairs.

When entering through the stable door there are two ground floor bedrooms which share a Jack-and-Jill shower room.

Upstairs there is an open plan living area with a fitted kitchen where you can prepare sumptuous meals to be eaten in the dining area and then put your feet up in the spacious sitting area to relax and enjoy a refreshing drink after a busy day enjoying this part of Ireland.

For additional privacy, there is also a ground floor utility room with woodburner.

To the outside of this cottage is a first floor decked area with furniture where you can enjoy the magnificent views of Teelin Bay and the start of the Slieve League cliffs.

Travel from this pleasant cottage to the peaceful village of Kilcar which has a fantastic reputation for traditional Irish music with local pubs hosting evening sessions.

There are countless walking and cycling trails to explore and masses of culture, tradition and scenery to experience.

The Glengesh Pass is the gateway to Donegal and not to be missed.

Further afield from this welcoming cottage are the relaxing beaches at Portnoo and Bundoran and if you have a little more energy visit the town of Letterkenny for the wonderful shopping.

If you go to Glenveagh National Park you will wonder at the nearly forty thousand acres of wilderness.

This lovely cottage is the perfect base to enjoy this part of Ireland at any time of the year.

The village of Kilcar sits at one of the most westerly points of County Donegal. It is a peaceful village that comes to life in the evening with traditional music being a regular feature in many of the local taverns, and "Ceol na gConallach - The Donegal Sessions" running every Saturday night through the summer months in the local theatre. The village sits in an area of stunning natural beauty with spectacular views of Slieve League Cliffs and Muckross Head, and there are several fabulous beaches for swimming and surfing available locally. The village has a rich history in Tweed weaving and textiles with local products available for purchase. The towns of Killybegs and Donegal are also close by.
