“Pros: the location of the cottage is great, rural enough to achieve the peace & quite of beautiful Donegal but central enough to explore the north, west and southern points of Co.”

Donegal. Enough parking for 3 cars and a rear enclosed garden for pets. Owner responsive to any queries/issues however not always resolved. Nice fire. Good ceramic kitchen wear I.e plates, mugs etc. Cons: very unclean, even after a second clean by the cleaner. Thankful owner offered second clean, however didn't resolve issue (admittedly we were too shy to say it still wasn't clean when owner checked with us) therefore we had to clean it ourselves. Cobwebs and dead spiders on ceilings and doorways. Window sills thick with dirt. Floors dirty. Can appreciate it is an old cottage with rough walls & stone floor therefore difficult to clean however needs deep clean asap. Hoover very weak suction- wouldn't help cleaning efforts. Cutlery needs refreshed- a lot stained & tarnished- not nice to use. Poor fittings, skirting boards broken & bulging in places. Grass very over grown and neglected, would have expected grass to have been cut. Fence & gates rotten and protective wiring to enclose garden torn, small dogs could escape, therefore not fully safe/enclosed. If you need to check emails or work during your stay the WiFi is poor & intermittent. Owner advised WiFi down due to service provider servicing in the area, although it was poor for the full week stay and seemed to reset at 3am every night. Overall: 2/5 Would be 4/5 if it had a tidy up/refurb, and better looked after and WiFi more reliable as it is advertised as an amenity/service on the booking site.
