The property

Located in amongst magnificent rural farmland and set behind the owners’ home and next to their small garden centre is this lovely, detached cottage.

Situated just three miles from the busy town of Ballinrobe in County Mayo, this cottage has been furnished and decorated with care throughout.

Guests will enter to find a welcoming open plan living area which boasts a fitted kitchen with dining area and sitting area, warmed by a wonderful woodburning stove, housed in the feature fireplace.

Leading off from the open plan living area are two single bedrooms and there are two more comfy bedrooms to the rear of the cottage where guests will also find a sitting room with an open fire.

This is the ideal spot to sit and relax after a busy day out exploring the area.

With all home comforts provided in this traditional Irish cottage, you are sure to enjoy a fantastic holiday here in County Mayo.

Found in the south of County Mayo, set close to the border of County Galway, is the bustling town of Ballinrobe.

Here visitors can find many eateries, pubs and shops; an ideal touring base.

A lovely day can be spent strolling around Cong, a popular village that is just a short drive away and for those who are fans of horse racing, a visit to the Ballinrobe Racecourse is a must.

Ballinrobe is the perfect base for those who love exploring the outdoors and also for anglers, with both Lough Mask and Lough Corrib on the doorstep.

Alternatively, why not venture to Connemara which is one of Ireland’s most popular regions.

For other days out, the charming town of Westport is not too far away and is home to Croagh Patrick, as well as a variety of craft shops to explore and the seafood eateries, traditional pubs and cobbled streets of Galway City are just waiting to be discovered.

Ballinrobe is a lively market town on the River Robe in County Mayo, close to Lough Mask, Lough Carra and Lough Corrib. Geographically, it is ideally located as a touring base for those wishing to explore Galway, Mayo and west Ireland. Dating back to the 1300s, Ballinrobe is believed to be the oldest town in South Mayo, and is surrounded by many features of archaeological, architectural, historic and ecological interest. Ballinrobe is known as the lake angling centre of the west, and with 60,000 acres of lough fishing, and miles of river fishing close by, it is easy to see why, plus the town offers a championship 18 hole golf course and spring and summer horse racing meetings.
