Situated on a quiet, peaceful road, there are many opportunities for gentle walks and bike rides, and this isolated, tranquil setting is ideal for those who enjoy wildlife watching, or evenings spent stargazing and then returning to the cosy open fire.

Also a variety of wildlife can be seen including sika deer, red squirrels, pine martins and a number of birds.

Ballygar is a small, historic town, a short drive away that provides guests with a range of amenities.

Another wonderful location for a peaceful stroll is alongside the River Suck in nearby Athleague.

For those who enjoy a spot of fishing, there is plenty of stock in this river for fisherman, as well as in the 40 acres of Hollygrove Lake nearby and the peaceful setting of Lough Ree.

There is great opportunity to try out watersports or even just to relax and unwind on the River Shannon on a leisure cruise, a wonderful way to take in the idyllic surroundings.

The charming village of Athleage is a wonderful place for lunch before heading into Athlone or Roscommon, which will fulfil or your shopping needs.

Just an hour?s drive away is the popular, cosmopolitan city of Galway where you?ll find winding streets filled with cafés, bars and a bohemian culture just waiting to be experienced and enjoyed.

A delightful way to discover your breathtaking surroundings is by travelling the Connemara route, situated to the north west of Galway, with charming, meandering roads.
