You can then retire to the cosy sitting room which has a woodburner, and enjoy a glass of wine, or relax in the stunning sunroom with comfortable seating and gaze the length and breadth of majestic Lough Corrib.

Outside the cottage, you get an immediate sense of Mother Nature's artistry with stunning lake views, mountains and woodland.

The village of Clonbur is situated between the mighty lakes of Lough Corrib and Lough Mask and leads westwards towards the Atlantic at Leenane and Killery Fiord and southwards towards Maam Cross and Connemara.

Travel the short distance to neighbouring village Cong, which provided the setting for the movie The Quiet Man, and where the wonderful Ashford Castle is also situated.

Take a day trip to stunning Connemara and savour the culture and traditions of West Galway.

Pay a visit to the vibrant city of Galway or travel north to Westport, a true oasis on the Wild Atlantic Way.

This cottage will provide the perfect touring base and will not disappoint you.

The traditional village of Clonbur is located between Lough Mask and Lough Corrib in County Galway. Offering a small selection of shops and pubs, it retains a distinctly Irish feel with its own unique character and charm. There are a number of places of interest to the visitor in the surrounding area, including Ross Hill Abbey, Ballykine Castle and Lough Coolin. For walkers and hikers, the imposing Mount Gable offers one of Ireland’s most scenic mountain walks, with the trail beginning less than 2 miles from Clonbur. The nearby village of Cong is well worth a visit and is famed as the setting for the John Wayne movie, ‘The Quiet Man’. It is also home to Ashford Castle with its magnificent architecture, fine dining and sprawling golf course. Loughs Corrib and Mask are world-renowned for trout and salmon fishing and boats and guides are available locally. Clonbur makes an ideal base for exploring other attractions in the area such as Galway City, the Connemara National Park and Clew Bay to the north.
