House a little dated some of the beds very uncomfortable although I must say they were clean

House a little dated some of the beds very uncomfortable although I must say they were clean House generally needs an update especially the furnishings and curtains and bathrooms There are things that could be made available such as a mop and bucket for the floors as I had to purchase floor wipes to clean the floors downstairs to keep them clean On the plus side the house is close to the town and for touring I personally would not return

Cong 3.5 miles; Galway City 29.5 miles.

The traditional village of Clonbur is located between Lough Mask and Lough Corrib in County Galway. There are a number of places of interest to the visitor in the surrounding area, including Ross Hill Abbey, Ballykine Castle and Lough Coolin. For walkers and hikers, the imposing Mount Gable offers one of Ireland’s most scenic mountain walks, with the trail beginning less than 2 miles from Clonbur. The nearby village of Cong is well worth a visit and is famed as the setting for the John Wayne movie, ‘The Quiet Man’. It is also home to Ashford Castle with its magnificent architecture, fine dining and sprawling golf course. Loughs Corrib and Mask are world-renowned for trout and salmon fishing and boats and guides are available locally. Clonbur makes an ideal base for exploring other attractions in the area such as Galway City, the Connemara National Park and Clew Bay to the north.
