“The Gallery was a cozy cottage that was nice to come home to after a day spent hiking and/or touring the County Clare countryside.”
Located in a quiet little village, the Gallery provided us with what we needed to rest and relax. It’s location was perfect for short drives to many of County Clare’s interesting tourist attractions. We were kept busy with all there is to see and do in this beautiful area of Ireland. This was our fourth trip to Ireland using Hogan’s Cottages to book our accommodations and each one has been of high quality and as described on their website. “I booked this cottage for a week for my Estonian friends.”
They were very happy with their temporary home and did not want to leave:) It was warm, comfortable and welcoming.
“Thinking my holiday couldn't improve since my last stay at The Gallery but my expectations were pleasantly exceeded again.”
There was a lovely complimentary homemade bread and milk in the fridge on arrival. Didn't think The Gallery could be improved but soon noticed some alterations which made my stay even more enjoyable. The owners of the house couldn't be more pleasant and accommodating, and you wouldn't find holiday accommodation of this quality so reasonably priced elsewhere.
“Beautifully designed, equipped and located for self catering base to explore the superb region”
“My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful 3-week stay at this excellent property.”
Its location is ideal for exploring southwest Ireland especially since the motorway is only a few kilometres away. We were able to take comfortable day trips as far as the Sky Road north of Clifden and the Loophead and Dingle peninsulas to the south. The Gallery turned out to be even better than we had hoped. It is so well laid out and uncluttered that it lives much bigger than the square footage might suggest, an effect enhanced by the large and numerous windows, which admit a great deal of light. The meticulous attention to detail is exemplified in such features as the mattress warmer having an individual control for each side of the bed. The owners, Aisling and Joe, are another outstanding asset. In addition to being scrupulous about the cleaning and maintenance of the property, they respond immediately if you have any questions or concerns, and they genuinely care that your stay is as nice as possible. We wholeheartedly recommend this house, and, should we visit Ireland again, we would be loathe to stay anywhere else.
“VERY well managed.”
What they fail to tell you is that you are actually ON The Wild Atlantic Way - 2,500 km of stunning scenery. Get past Galway City to the north (but for goodness sake stop there!) Then follow the 'wavy lines' all the way to Clifden. Connemara is pure Ireland. Turn left out of the cottage and it's the Burren and stalactites. You are in for a treat - do it!
“We loved the cottage!”
It had a great kitchen, romantic lighting available if desired (it was our honeymoon), very comfy bedding, a nice living room, etc. The decor was all really beautiful. The views out the windows were surprisingly pretty, despite being on a main road. It was also quieter than we expected. Laundry was easy to figure out. The shower was small and had no soap, but I think that was our only complaint. Ballinderreen didn't have much to do -- one pub that didn't serve food and was packed both times we tried it. It had some pretty places to walk, however, especially down by the water/pier. What we liked about the location, though, was the proximity to so many other things. The gas and food shop were basically next door, so our early morning milk crises were easy to fix. The neighboring towns (Kinvarra and Kilcolgan) were beautiful and had lots of restaurants and things to do. It was a central base for some of our favorite places like Ballyvaughan, Galway, Connemara, Burren National Park, Gort/Coole Park, etc. Being on the main road meant very easy directions to each of our day trips.
“A lovely cottage in a good location for exploring some lovely places on the West coast of Ireland.”
Would definitely recommend.
“The cottage was situated in a quiet area, perfect place to get away from it all.”
It was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a short stay.
We spent a week in this property and wish it had been longer. The owners were available if needed and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was so homely and welcoming, a lovely plate of scones were waiting on our arrival.
“Lovely, lovely, lovely!”
A sweet little cottage located in a small quiet town, about 20-30 min drive from Galway. There is room for a car if you have one. The cottage is snug and has a well stocked kitchen if you do plan to do some proper cooking. The cottage is furnished well and feels like a home. A lot of care and effort has been put into the place to make it feel homely, and it does. The bed is comfortable and comes with extra blankets and pillows if needed as well as an electric blanket. Very invaluable if you decide to holiday during a very cold week! A thoughtful plate of scones, jam and butter was left out for as when we arrived at the cottage. There is a selection of DVD's and books upstairs. The owners have also put together a file of suggestions for day trips, restaurants and things to do if you need some help. They have also listed other useful information such as the whereabouts of the nearest post office, church, police station, hospital etc. We had a lovely time there and would definitely return on a second visit to Ireland. It is very well priced, private and feels like your home for the week or however long you have chosen to stay.
“a lovely property put together with great care”
We were welcomed with warmth and hospitality by the owners Aisling and Joe who had obviously put this cosy cottage together with great attention to detail. Being near the road caused no problems at all and made touring the area very simple. Kinvara is close by and is a very characterful, pretty village whch can be reached in a few minutes. There are forest walks, dramatic coastal drives and the Burren all within reach. We left the property already planning our next visit . We would recommend the Gallery to anyone wanting a genuine experience of Galway.
“Fantastic and very friendly stay!”
We stayed for a week over Easter and it was wonderful. The owners were very friendly and could not do more for us! The cottage has everything you could need and is perfectly positioned for seeing arup the sites around Galway!
“The perfect couples cottage!”
The Gallery it's self was a perfect cottage for a couple looking for some quality time together. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The cottage caters for everything you could possible need. It was extremely clean, well looked after and presented. The owners aisling & Joe were the most welcoming and warm people who couldn't help you enough. They were very friendly and approachable. We fell in love with the place and the people and will most definitely be back in the future!
“Cosy well located cottage.”
The cottage is the perfect size for a couple, with an open plan living room/dining area/kitchen upstairs and a double bedroom and shower downstairs. It's well equipped and comfortable with everything you need for your stay. There is a small private sitting out area at the back. The cottage is located next to the owner's house by a main road but we weren't aware of any traffic noise once inside the cottage. There are plenty of places to eat not too far away in Kilcolgan and Kinvarra, and Ballinderreen itself has a couple of pubs and a petrol station/convenience store. It's a good base for touring around and is ideally located for visiting The Burren and Galway City. The beautiful and almost totally unspoilt landscape of Connemara is also within easy reach by car.
