“Brilliant relaxing week in Connemara for us and our two dogs, who were shattered by the end of the week from the hours of amazing walks they had every day.”
The cottage was really well equipped, loads of kitchen stuff and facilities for washing etc. Shower was lovely, and a huge pile of turf and logs for a nice fire in the stove every night. Nice fields behind the cottage leading down to the sea shore so great for a walk with the dogs in the evening (needed to keep dogs on leads as the fields are full of Hares and there were cattle with calves so they were a bit protective). Really good location for visiting loads of the Wild Atlantic Way and coastal areas such as An Cheathru Rua, Coral Beach, Roundstone, Gorteen, Dog's Bay. Close enough to Oughterard or Clifden for shopping. Lough Mask and Lough Na Fooey were great for fishing and the scenery in the mountains around Maam and Finney was absolutely stunning. Best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Only words of caution are to bring insect repellent to counter the midges as they are out in the morning and evening, even on a sunny day, and keep the doors closed in the evening so they don't follow you into the house.
