From your charming cottage explore the medieval town of Loughrea which lies on the northern shore of Lough Rea. In the town centre there is also a large selection of shops and pubs. Why not visit the 12th century Cloghan Castle and Loughrea Cathedral which houses a vast collection of Celtic art and Irish craft ware and also the ancient artefact which is called Turoe Stone? The heritage town of Athenry and the market town of Portumna are within driving distance. Whilst touring through the beautiful countryside stop at one of the many restaurants and enjoy a sumptuous meal. There is a strong tradition of Irish music in the locality and many pubs stage sessions at night, plus the area has lots to offer, from beautiful countryside to great restaurants offering varied types of cuisine.
