The capital of Connemara, Clifden is only a short drive away and here you can enjoy sandy beaches, pony trekking and deep sea angling. The nearby village of Oughterard boasts many attractions, such as fishing, golfing and walking amongst the beautiful Connemara mountain range.

The village offers restaurants and local pubs waiting to welcome you with open arms and provide you with a pint of the black stuff!

Slightly further afield, set between the Atlantic Ocean, 12 Ben Mountains and preserved boglands, you will find the town of Clifden.

Here, you can visit the many shops, pubs boasting traditional Irish music and you can indulge in some fine restaurants, as this is known as the west’s ‘Gourmet Capital’.

Home to the Oughterard 18-hole championship golf course, Derroura Mountain Bike Trail and Aughnanure Castle, there are lots of things to see and do, and located next to Lough Corrib, Oughterard is great for lovers of fishing.
