“Third stay here, nice to see new flooring.”

The photos on Sykes need updating as the outside has been painted as well.The location makes this cottage, stunning views and walking distance to shop, pubs and restaurants. Connemara never disappoints!

“The accommodation was as listed, clean and tidy and had everything you needed.”

Superb views over the inlet enhanced the holiday. No problems arranging entry as the door was open and the key left inside on arrival. A parking spot was saved outside the door which was a nice touch.

“We really enjoyed our stay at Quayside House.”

It is a a very short walk to shop and pub and the view from the sitting room is spectacular. Although everything worked well, the cooker is a bit outdated. Parking outside was hit and miss but not a problem to park elsewhere. We had two week of fine weather so plenty of beaches/walks to explore locally. Would definitely stay again

“Once again, our stay in Quayside house was wonderful.”

Shaun (the owner) was helpful in providing more coat hangers and putting fresh milk in the fridge for our arrival. The house is well equipped and in a beautiful position within the village of Roundstone, offering beautiful views. A lovely new carpet added to the comfort of our stay. As ever, the people of Roundstone were warm and very welcoming. We were a party of seven (including a teenager and child) and the house met all of our needs. We will certainly be booking Quayside house again...home from home. Thank you.

“We booked for xmas week.”

Got there late in the evening. House was easy to find and was lovely and warm on arrival. We went to make tea but the kettle was broken. So texted owners to let them know and to say we could manage till morning. Within an hour we had a brand new kettle!! The house itself is great and is much bigger than we expected. All rooms were spotless and bathrooms are relatively new and great showers. Couldnt fault this house in anyway, will definitely be back.

“We found this house was well equipped and was actually quite big.”

It looks small from the road but is big on the inside. We have 5 children and managed very well here. The scenery from the living room window was beautiful. We would definitely come back here if we were coming to Roundstone again. It was also priced reasonably for August. It can be a struggle to get a house to fit our large family and not be too expensive.

“We have booked into Quayside house several times over the years and always feel very much at home there.”

It has spacious and well planned accommodation and the facilities are more than adequate with the newly fitted shower room a bonus. It has a wonderful view from the picture window and is located in the very beautiful village of Roundstone where everyone is genuinely warm and friendly to all. I would recommend Quayside house and will certainly be booking it again in the future. Thank you.

“Second time in this cottage.”

There is a smart new shower room and new flooring in the twin since last year. I complained about the shocking three piece suite last year and was amazed to find it still there however half way through the week we came back to a brand new one- a massive improvement. The house is a good basic stay and is excellent value for money. The first floor lounge has stunning views across the bay and over to the twelve bens. Couple of mins to a good choice of bars and restaurants and a great base for touring Connamara. The heating timer doesn't work (the clock fails to move) so put it on constant when you need it, it's quick to heat up. One other tip- get up early and watch the sunrise over the bay, stunning. We'll be back!

“The house is in an amazing location.”

Roundstone Village is beautiful. The people were extremely friendly. There are four pubs, two hotels and two cafes so we were never spoilt for somewhere to eat and drink. The house is very clean but the furniture is extremely dated. The sofa is in desperate need of replacement. The leather is coming off and was actually sticking to us when the throws thrown over it cover it up slipped off, which they did continually. The real bug bear for me was the lack of a hairdryer. I've never stayed anywhere that doesn't provide a hairdryer. We had to purchase one from Galway. We also struggled with the rubbish. The information book told us to purchase recycling bags from the local convenience store. They told us that the recycling company don't supply to them any more and you have to go to the company themselves. This we were not prepared to do when on holiday therefore we had to leave the rubbish in the yard in black bin bags which the lady in the shop told us wouldn't be taken away - catch 22. We felt that the correct bin bags should have been left under the sink. All that said, we had an amazing holiday and the house was just somewhere to lay our heads (the beds were extremely comfy) as we were very lucky with the weather and were out all day ever day.

The owners were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The village of Roundstone is a perfect place to relax amongst the friendliest of people, along with spectacular views and a great sense of tranquillity. The nearby beaches of Dogs Bay and Gorteen are stunning, with clear blue sea and white sand. A lovely cottage in a wonderful and very special place. I intend to return again and again and again.

“A lovely family home with all the amenities needed.”

It was traditionally furnished, all of a good standard and clean with spacious clean and comfortable bedrooms. The view from the living room was a wonderful wake up call each morning. Roundstone itself was well catered for pubs and restaurants all to be recommended. Will return in the future.

The décor was of a high standard which makes for a welcoming feel at the end of a day walking or kayaking, like coming home. The view from the sitting room was superb and lived up to its description online. It made eating breakfast one of the most enjoyable experiences of the holiday, even when it rained. We had a great feeling of contentment on our return to the house each evening.

Located in the sleepy harbour village of Roundstone, County Galway is this charming terraced cottage.

Furnished to a traditional style, this Roundstone cottage features upside down accommodation with two of the three bedrooms on the ground floor and a cosy first floor sitting room complete with beautiful views across the sea.

Relax in comfort with the atmospheric open fire before taking the short stroll in to the village to enjoy the warm welcome at one of the many taverns.

Roundstone is a peaceful village located on the wild Galway coastline and there are many unspoilt beaches where you can enjoy a late evening ramble with just the sound of the sea for company.

Further up the coast is the bustling market town of Clifden which is full of boutique shops and quality restaurants.

The area has many excellent golf courses and fishermen can take their pick from a plethora of superb spots.

The Connemara National Park sits on the doorstep of this Roundstone cottage with breathtaking views at every turn such as those afforded by the Twelve Pins mountain range.

Further afield, visit the Aran Islands and Galway City to round off a memorable Irish break in a truly special location.

Roundstone, in the Connemara region of County Galway, lies on the western arm of Bertraghboy Bay. The entrance to Roundstone harbour is marked by a large stone, like an upturned bath tub, which is known as seals rock (Chloch na Ron) as seals like to clamber up onto it and bask in the sunshine. The bay itself is also often referred to as Roundstone Haven. Roundstone offers pubs, restaurants, cafés, shops and a children’s playground, plus there is a traditional Irish night in the summer and a number of festivals which take place throughout the year. Roundstone is full of historical and geographical points of interest, including the bell tower of the Franciscan Monastery, now standing in the Michael Killeen Park, and the remains of a monument to St Brendan on Inishnee, a small island in Roundstone Bay. A five-minute drive away are Gurteen and Dog's Bay beaches, plus attractions in the area include horse riding, deep sea fishing, hill walking and cycling. Just eight miles from Roundstone is the Connemara Golf Club and further afield there is great scenery to enjoy either on foot, bicycle or in the car. The lively town of Clifden has lots of interesting things to see, while the Connemara National Park is just a little further away and the city of Galway can be reached in an hour’s drive.
