The open plan living area is kept warm and cosy by a solid fuel stove which makes enjoying meals in the dining area which have been prepared in the well-equipped kitchen even more special.

In the evenings you can then retire to the comfortable sitting area and discuss your plans for the days ahead.

For a little touch of luxury the double bedroom boasts a four poster bed to give you a peaceful nights rest.

On sunny days, why not take your breakfast outside to the suntrap gravel yard with furniture?

Ballacolla has all the amenities you will need during your stay including a shop and a pub.

It also has easy access to the motorway which will take you to Cork and Limerick which makes it a fantastic touring base with a number of attractions to keep you entertained.

There are walks and fishing available at Granstown Woods, golfing at Rathdowney and you can spend a relaxed day in Kilkenny visiting the castle and shops.

A little further afield are the delights of the Rock of Cashel and Cahir Castle.

From this cottage it is even possible to have a day trip to the capital city of Dublin where you can visit the many tourist attractions including Temple Bar, the Guinness Storehouse and Trinity College.

With so much on offer, this cottage is a delight at any time of year.

The village provides a wonderful base for anyone wishing to explore this region of Ireland with superb access to the motorways. This rural village is home to a local shop and pub and is surrounded by rolling green countryside. Just a short drive away is Granstown Woods and Lough, a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Other nearby attractions include the National Ploughing Championship held in Ballacolla in September, the excellent golf course at Rathdowney and the scarecrow festival held on the August bank holiday weekend in Durrow village.
