“Lovely House and Great Owners”
My wife and I booked Beech Lane Farmhouse via Sykes as we needed to visit my mother-in-law in Kilkenny and it was close by and pet friendly. From the wonderful warm greeting we received on arrival to the lovely goodbyes it was a great experience. This lovely house and grounds set on a small farm is exactly what we needed as we would be working at my mother-in-laws during the day and needed to chill out after. Great facilities within the house and beautiful location around it was an experience to remember for a long time, we intend to return later this year and would recommend Beech Lane to anyone looking for a relaxing location, within easy distance of a vibrant city. Ideal for families or up to three couples, many thanks to John and Canice.

“Business / Family Trip”
Have stayed in Beechlane Farmhouse the last 3 years every March, great house, beutiful surroundings and super hosts.
“The house was fantastic and the hosts John and canice were very friendly, Will be going back again if I go back to Ireland.”
“Loved the quiet beautiful surroundings and very pleasant and helpful owners.”
“Superb house & location”
A warm welcome awaits you at Beechlane Farmhouse Kilkenny. A lovely house, great location to explore Ireland with everything you'll need. Very family friendly! Thank you to the Core family for your hospitality. We would thoroughly recommend staying here. Can't wait to to return next year.
Great 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom farmhouse in a really quiet, picturesque location. Owners Canice and John are rightly proud of this refurbished home. They gave us a detailed overview on arrival and welcomed us with provisions of tea, coffee, milk, apple pie etc as well as towels, loo rolls, hand wash, dishwasher tablets, in fact the house was really well equipped. The family live in separate houses on the farm and are keen to let you know that nothing is too much trouble if you need them for anything. There is a gas BBQ available for a bit of outdoor dining if the weather is nice, as it was during our stay. Prince, the family's horse enjoys the odd apple or carrot, and expect visit's from their lovely puppy, Holly too. All in all, a great week in a great house, in a lovely location with plenty of space for 3 couples, run by a really genuine couple.
“A brilliant place to stay.”
The farmhouse is lovely and clean and as all you could need for a enjoyable and relaxing holiday. The owners John & Canice are both very freindly and helpful they also listen if you have any comments that will help them improve what is on offer. we had a party member who has reduced mobility and the fact there are no steps on the groung floor and a wet room which is fully equipped was great and meant they had a stress free holiday. The house would be ideal for all ages and has plenty of space for young families to have freedom to play and comfy seats for the not so young to relax in comfort. On top of all this it is a great base for touring south east Ireland.
“Beech Lane Farmhouse”
Beech Lane Farmhouse was a perfect place for a family of 4. Plenty of space, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Free Wifi and basic TV selection available. Our hosts John and Canice welcomed us warmly and left us with plenty of information about the area and property. And we enjoyed giving the horse Prince in the adjoining field an apple or two!
“Idyllic location to visit south-east Ireland and beyond”
We choose this cottage for its good transport links to Dublin and the coast. The cottage is well furnished and offered sufficient room so that each of our 3 children had their own space. We were all made to feel at home by the owners and our Springer Spaniel was no exception. The owners were great ambassadors for Ireland. Prior to arrival an offer of tracking us down was given, should we get lost, this was not needed as clear directions and GPS coordinates were provided. In addition to the fair sized garden there is a good-sized driveway, which was also used by our children. The house was clean throughout. We were blessed with such good weather (one day of rain) during our fortnight stay that we were in the cottage a lot less than we had expected. As a family we would thoroughly recommend the cottage to our friends and family.
The house was as spacious as on the pictures, and very clean. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. It was great for our 2 year old son, it even had toy cars and a ramp to play with. The yard is well fenced and without any dangers for a 2 year old. The trampoline is a nice soft one and the house is near the top of a hill and gets good sun in the afternoon (when the sun is out, it's Ireland), and we had a visit from a friendly horse. There is a friendly cat around too. The TV is not really big, but we don't really watch TV. The wifi internet access is stable and reachable through the house.
“What a find! Perfect.”
Stayed here on our first family holiday with our Granddaugher & family.& our little dog Poppy. What a fantastic cottage ! John & his wife met us when we arrived early & explained how everything worked , nothing was to much trouble. We had lovely weather & made good use of the barbecue & patio ! Even managed to feed their horse Prince! 3 bedrooms all on suite plenty of space to relax & chill out everywhere was well maintained & very clean a credit to the owners. Would love to return next year . Thank you for a wonderful holiday
Wow!! What a great house to stay in. Extremely comfortable and clean. The trampoline was loved by our children who spent many an hour bouncing away. The fact this property is on a working farm was a real hit as well. The kids loved feeding carrots to the horse, watching the tractor and trying to stare out the cows!! The owners were also extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The house is also in a fantastic location. Kilkenny city is just beautiful and a very easy 15-20 minute drive away. The surrounding countryside is also amazing. Among the many Highlights of our trip were Woodstock Gardens, the Reptile Zoo in Gowran, Mohan Falls and everything about Kilkenny City. I would thoroughly recommend this house to stay in. If we come back to this area again, we won't even bother to look elsewhere - nothing can beat this house.
“Absolutely first class accomodation which I would highly recommend”
We decided to visit Ireland in order to take my Mum to her childhood home for her 80th birthday. We booked the accomodation on line and really didn't know what to expect. From initial arrival where we were greeted by the owners as friends, right through to our departure we would not be able to make any negative comments at all. The accomodation was first class and it was like staying in a five star accomodation. The owners were friendly and helpful at all times and my Mum's birthday treat was made complete. Thank you so much for everything and we will be back at some time.Would love to do it in the summer.
“These people are remarkable hosts living just off site and were keen to give us a great holiday experience.”
only had to see them once when microwave died. 20 mins later they had came up and replaced it even though we were simply informing them to keep ourselves right! the rest of the week they stayed away giving us a great opportunity to stay in a wonderful farmhouse renovated to a hight standard. well done.
