Occupying a wonderful position near the northern shores of Lough Melvin, holidaymakers can enjoy a scenic drive or cycle around the lough. The area is also renowned for its trout and salmon fishing. A short drive takes you to the friendly village of Kinlough, while only slightly further is the popular coastal resort town of Bundoran. Try surfing at Rossnowlagh, the home of Ireland's oldest surf club, or cross the border to explore Northern Ireland, where Lough Erne and the town of Enniskillen can be reached for an interesting day trip.

Askill is a townland in County Leitrim, close to the border with County Donegal and also the border to Northern Ireland. Askill is on the banks of Lough Melvin, which offers wonderful fishing for salmon and trout species. Askill is well placed for the beaches at Bundoran or Rossnowlagh in County Donegal, or for heading to the towns of Belleek, Garrison or Kinlough. Sligo, Donegal Town and Enniskillen are also within easy driving distance. An excellent base for relaxation or touring this lovely area.
