The village of Riverstown is less than an hour from Knock International Airport, and lies on the banks of the Unshin River where there are excellent fishing opportunities for both experienced and amateur anglers.

There are a selection of shops and pubs available in the village as well as the famous Sligo Folk Park, a fantastic opportunity to step back in time and experience rural Irish living.

Ballygawley is a nearby village with shop, two pubs, hotel with spa and golf course.

For a more adventurous day you can visit one of the many sandy beaches including Enniscrone, Strandhill, and the home of the counties finest surfing spots at Rosses Point.

You can also try stand-up paddle boarding on Lough Gill or have a relaxing stroll along the lake at Lough Key Forest and Activity Park.

The history buff in the group is sure to enjoy a trip to the Irish Famine Museum, Drumcliffe Round Tower and Sligo Abbey.

Just a short drive away is the town of Sligo on the stunning Wild Atlantic Way where you will find excellent cuisine, culture and heritage.

For a day trip you can head further afield to the River Shannon for a boat trip and take in the breathtaking surroundings of County Donegal.

The village of Riverstown lies at a bridging point of the River Unshin, in west Ireland, and is home to the famous Sligo Folk Park.
