The Thatch provides an ideal rural escape for families and friends one mile from the quiet village of Galbally in County Limerick which is a very picturesque area of the country. From the moment you arrive you will notice the traditional features, from the original thatched roof through to the fireplace which is a main feature in the sitting room. Alongside these reminders of the past are modern conveniences to make you feel at home during your stay, including Sky TV. All three bedrooms are comfortably furnished and will allow you a fantastic night’s sleep; one of them even includes a four poster bed for that extra special touch! You can gather the whole group together in the kitchen where there is a multi-fuel stove to keep you cosy and warm on cooler nights. Here you will find everything you need to prepare home cooked meals to be enjoyed while you discuss your adventures so far and the many more that are yet to come. The sitting room is a lovely space to spend an evening relaxing in front of the open fire with a good book or a glass of wine. Outside, you will find a patio where you can take advantage of any good weather and dine alfresco while sitting within the maintained gardens. This area is a haven for walkers and hikers with spectacular mountainous scenery to be found in the Glen of Aherlow where the Aherlow River flows. Closer to home in the village of Galbally where there are a variety of pubs and shops and you can take a walk to visit Darby’s Bed which is a passage grave nearby.
