Outside your quaint Knocklong cottage, you have a courtyard garden to the front and a lawn and patio garden to the rear with furniture and a BBQ area, ideal for those sunny days when you feel like making the most of the sunshine and dining alfresco or simply enjoy the peace and quiet with a cup of tea and a good book.

Situated close to the border of Tipperary and Limerick, this peaceful hamlet of Knocklong boasts spectacular views of the Galtees Mountains and nearby attractions include the Knockainey Church and the ruins of the 16th century Knocklong Castle.

Further afield, you have the town of Killmallock which offers a wide range of shopping facilities and a variety of pubs and restaurants and a short drive away will bring you to the town of Tipperary which lies in the superb scenic surroundings of the Golden Vale; ideal for hill walking and pony-trekking.

About the location

KNOCKLONG, COUNTY LIMERICK

Kilmallock 8 miles; Tipperary 12 miles; Limerick 22 miles.

The friendly village of Knocklong is located in the south east of County Limerick, close to the Limerick/Tipperary border, in the midlands of Ireland. The railway station is famed for the rescue of Sean Hogan, which was one of the first events of the War of Independence in 1919. The village also holds the ruins of a 16th century castle and O’Turley Tower on Knocklong Hill. Located on the main Limerick-Mitchelstown-Cork road, Knocklong makes a great touring base with plenty to see and do within easy reach. The walking trails and historical sites around the beautiful Lough Gur is a must do in the area for outdoor enthusiasts, and Mitchelstown Caves, Cahir Castle and the Rock of Cashel are also within easy driving distance and worth a visit.
