The owner is a keen angler, and with two boats at his disposal, is happy to take you out on a fishing trip to one of the many local lakes.

Surrounded by attractive scenery dotted with tranquil lakes and low-lying hills, there are plenty of walks and cycling routes to discover practically from the door.
Ballinamuck Battle Heritage Centre is an interesting place to visit before enjoying one of the historic walks around the battlefield.
A little further afield is Carrick-on-Shannon, a popular inland resort with its vibrant music and arts scene and busy marina where you’ll find excellent restaurants.
There are many activities in the area which would suit everyone including many watersports, horse riding and golf, you will never be at a loss for something to do.

The historic village of Ballinamuck is situated in the north of County Longford, close to the borders of Leitrim and Cavan. Literally translated to ‘mouth of the ford of the pig’, Ballinamuck is a wonderful area to discover the mass of farmland, lakes, low lying hills and pristine boglands of North Longford. Ballinamuck was once the site of the Battle of Ballinamuck and there is a local heritage centre which houses an interesting exhibition of the events of the battle. The centre also offers guidance on local walks, which retrace the steps of those who fought during the battle. Fishing, cycling and walking are very popular in this region, with endless miles of unspoilt countryside to discover and explore. The local pub is an old thatch pub with another large pub where you can have a nice evening meal also. The village has a large play area for kids and a basketball court also.
