    “Ideal base for touring north mayo.”

    adjacent shop is handy for any needs. although customers at shop do park right outside the house which may cause issues for those with mobility needs. House all on one level and close to Ballina, foxford and lovely walk to lough conn is close by. would recommend and will be staying again

The property

This delightful detached cottage is situated in the village of Knockmore, close to the wonderful shores of Lough Conn and a short drive from the towns of Ballina and Castlebar, County Mayo.

This pleasant cottage is ideal for couples and friends who enjoy the outdoors and are looking for a relaxing break away.

Set all on the ground floor, the cottage offers a well-equipped kitchen together with an adjoining living room with dining area and open fire.

There is a second sitting room with a further open fire, providing the perfect place to curl up with a good book or relax as you chat over the day’s adventures.

There are three comfortable bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Also on the ground floor there is an enclosed courtyard garden room with furniture, ideal for enjoying a morning cuppa.

A short walk takes you to the edge of the village where you can catch a glimpse of Lough Conn and Nephin mountain in the background.

A short drive will take you to Pontoon Bridge which links the two loughs of Lough Conn and Lough Cullin together.

For fishing enthusiasts the River Moy is nearby, famous for its salmon fishing which flows from Lough Cuillin to the town of Ballina.

Lough Conn has pretty sandy inlets to discover, or take an amble through Drummin Wood.

The town of Castlebar lies to the west and a little further on is Westport with its selection of cafes, restaurants and pubs offering traditional Irish music and culture.

Foxford is well worth a visit with its famous woollen mills, where you may find souvenirs in the array of crafts on offer and enjoy a meal in the adjoining restaurant.

Alternatively, why not spend a day exploring Ballina and relax on the wonderful beach at Enniscrone?

There is plenty for everyone to enjoy during a holiday at this lovely property.
