“We visited Doonaulton House as a group family holiday and the house and location could not have been any better.”

After unloading your personal belongings and having taken in the stunning views, take the weight off your feet by kicking back in the homely living/dining room as a member of the group rustles up a feast in the open plan, well-equipped kitchen.

Settle down at one of two dining tables, ready to tuck in as the wine is poured and conversation flows before stepping out onto the private patio, if the weather permits, to delight in a toast over a cold beverage, basking in your lovely surroundings as dusk sets in; the views of the Wild Atlantic Way from Doonalton House are simply breathtaking.

Take advantage of two generous relaxation spaces including a first-floor games/reading room and a further first-floor sitting room with balcony, perfect for getting lost in a book, a game of chess or admiring magnificent views of the coastline, before treating yourself to a warm shower or bath in your respective en-suite.

The bedrooms all consist of doubles and offer plenty of storage to house your belongings, with some residing on the ground floor which may be more suited for the older members of your group.

If you’re ready to leave the sumptuous surroundings of Doonalton House, there is so much to explore nearby.

A short drive away, you will find the beautiful Blue Flag accredited Enniscrone Beach, stretching for an amazing 5km and surrounded by a lively little seaside town, it offers a range of activities from surfing, golfing, walking, horse riding, amusements, sand dunes, fishing, swimming to a variety of summer camps that are held throughout the summer months.

You should also find time to relax in the world-famous seaweed baths, renowned for their health benefits.

In nearby Easkey, discover the historic remains of Easkey Castle, stroll along Easkey Pier or follow the famous Wild Atlantic Way, known as one of the longest, defined coastal routes in the world with stunning cliff top and sea views, in addition to a surfing school.

The local shop, ‘Bernie’s’, can provide everything you need to ensure your self-catering holiday is fully stocked or you can refuel with a hearty pub lunch.
